Optimal Sampling Pattern for the Free Final Time Linear Quadratic Regulator
The optimal sampling problem is the selection of the optimal sampling instants together with the optimal control actions such that a given cost function is minimized. In this article, we solve the optimal sampling problem for the free final time linear quadratic regulator. Each optimal sampling instant is computed as the minimization of a maximum eigenvalue problem that is formulated at each stage by previously applying dynamic programming. The solution provides the optimal sampling instants, control actions, and the optimal final time in a recursive and constructive way. Furthermore, the solution is optimal for any arbitrary number of control moves N≥1 , as it is not based on asymptotic arguments. Two application examples show the feasibility of the approach
Set‐based gain‐scheduled control via quasi‐convex difference inclusions
A nonlinear system with sector-bounded nonlinearities may be expressed as a quasiLPV system (convex combination of linear models), being this a well-known fact.
The convex difference inclusion (CDI) modelling framework proposed by M. Fiacchini and coworkers in several of their works generalises the quasi-LPV modelling
procedure and proposes robust controllers enlarging polytopic domain of attraction
estimates. This works further generalises the CDI approach to a gain-scheduled case
including, also, some quasi-convex cases. Controller design is based on convexity properties of two set valued maps describing (with some uncertainty) the state
evolution and the state-dependent set where scheduling variables take values. As
most set-based approaches, the proposal is tractable in low-dimensional cases. The
presented results encompass prior quasi-LPV and CDI models as particular cases
In this final year dissertation, titled Painting and Abstraction: The interior of the exterior, are presented a series of pictorial compositions made with an abstract language and I expect to conform a concrete expositive project. Parallel to its elaboration I made a study of the abstract painting history and, specially, of those referents that more influenced my accomplishment.
This project is made of a series of 12 paintings, two of them of bigger size and circular and hexagonal format respectively, and the rest of minor size and squared format. In all the compositions can be seen accentuated contrasts between brushstrokes and uniform splashes of colour made randomly and it is perceived, also, an evolution between the spontaneous and the procedural, like if it is a transition between the interior to the exterior. Uniform stains of colour that transform in gesture and texture and allow us to appreciate at the same time the original structure of the interior and the fingerprints of the pictorial processes used in the realization.
I identify myself with the abstraction and with it I tried to take the personal exploration, a personal exploration, a quest of the pictorial maturity. I want with this project I want to record of a part of my interior being ¿my anxieties and emotions¿ as well as my exterior as artist, the materialization of the actions and processes that made it possible. At the same time, this work will allow me to show a big part of what I learnt in the last year of my degree in fine arts.Ariño Montoya, C. (2017). Relaxed LMI conditions for control of nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno models
(2008). Relaxed LMI conditions for control of nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno models [Tesis doctoral no publicada]. Universitat Politècnica de València. https://doi.org/10.4995/Thesis/10251/8301Palanci
Closed-form estimates of the domain of attraction for nonlinear systems via fuzzy-polynomial models
In this work, the domain of attraction of the origin of
a nonlinear system is estimated in closed-form via level sets with
polynomial boundary, iteratively computed. In particular, the
domain of attraction is expanded from a previous estimate, such
as, for instance, a classical Lyapunov level set. With the use of
fuzzy-polynomial models, the domain-of-attraction analysis can
be carried out via sum of squares optimization and an iterative
algorithm. The result is a function wich bounds the domain of
attraction, free from the usual restriction of being positive and
decrescent in all the interior of its level sets
The Novallas bronze tablet: An inscription in the Celtiberian language and the Latin alphabet from Spain
The Novallas Bronze may be considered one of the most important epigraphic finds in recent years in Spain. It is a fragment of a public document datable to the last decades of the 1st c. BCE, composed in the Celtiberian language but written in the Latin alphabet. The Novallas Bronze is not only one of the latest inscriptions composed in this language – over half a century later than the famous inscriptions from Contrebia Belaisca – but also the longest Celtiberian document written in the Latin alphabet known thus far. This paper offers a complete publication of this exceptional document, as well as an analysis of the principal developments that the artifact illuminates and the consequent implications for the transformations that the Celtiberian people underwent during the transition from Republic to Empire, with particular focus on the process of Latinization

Tesseram conferre. Etruscan, Greek, Latin, and Celtiberian tesserae hospitales
Hospitality can be considered a key institution in the social relationships in the ancient Mediterranean. To identify the people involved in a hospitality agreement, in certain contexts small objects were used in a similar way to a password, which the Greeks called symbolon and the Romans tessera hospitalis. We know how the latter were used thanks to Plautus'' Poenulus. At least 64 pieces are currently known which may be identified as tesserae hospitales. All come from the Western Mediterranean. The majority contain brief inscriptions, written in Etruscan, Latin, Greek, or Celtiberian. They share a series of common features, which impart a clear family resemblance beyond geographic, cultural, or linguistic border
estan automatitzats.

<br /
